Hi all,
A0-07 loud and clear on orbit 26364
using FT290R portable with 4 element
yagi. Again copiable with a whip too.
Very clear telemetry, but several
weird signals in the passband considerably
louder than the beacon. They sounded
a bit like some kind of telemetry
signals (s/c over Greenland at the time).
Couple of European stations on SSB, one
on CW. The beacon telemetry CW was
superimposed clearly on the loud
buzzy carriers, sounding like cross-
modulation due to severe uplink levels...
I wonder if the beacon TX is sharing the
common TX PA ?
Also, looking at an old photo of AO-07,
it looks like the 10 m antenna was
spring loaded inside the s/c with pyro-
cutters to release it ?
No wonder the 10 m beacon comes in so
well :-)
Also wondering if there was some kind of
gravity boom experiment embedded in this ;-)
