i sent my reply direct to him...but it appears i should have sent it to the
group.
so-41 is only operational in the ham bands while over the u.s. and saudi
arabia. it is not every u.s. pass, mostly the higher elevation passes. this is
because the satellite is being used to monitor their pipeline temperatures and
they were kind enough to turn it on for hams.
so-42 (saudisat 1b) monitors the pipeline temperatures on all passes, thus no
ham activity.
