I see no conflict between pushing for 7.2 - 7.3 MHz to be allocated to the
Amateur Service and pushing for additional Amateur Satellite allocations.
As you say the timescales to achieve additional allocations are long so the
sooner we start the process the better. Consideration needs to be given now as
to what the Amateur Satellite Service will need in 10 years time. 3400-3410 is
ceratinly one segment we need.
BTW does anyone know the history as to why in the 70's the 5 GHz allocations
were designated as seperate up and downlink bands ? If it was due to sharing
considerations at the time do these still apply 30 years later ?
