John,

The WiFi QRM you experienced on Mode S was probably a WiFi Channel 1 device.
Some APs use that for a default channel, although most use Channel 6.

Did you try using NetStumbler (free software) to determine location?  At 100 
mW
nominal maximum RF power it must be a very local source.  Many times you can 
just
ask them to move to one of the channels 7 - 11 (simple software toggle), 
which in
the US, is outside the 2.4 GHz Amateur Band.

Just a suggestion.  It's kind of like solving a TVI problem, but in reverse 
(HI).
