I was hosting the Shuttle audio on IRLP Reflector 9870, channel 9 (9879)
for Chris N6ICW who is the uplink to the IRLP network. Up until last
night it was running well, no complaints on bandwidth or packet loss
issues, and just chugging along.
(IRLP had problems on the previous Reflector used during the last launch
with packet-loss last time from certain networks. Reflector 9870 is
hosted on dual 100mb/s pipes to Cogent and InterNAP by a kind local ham.)
The hardware running Reflector 9870 and also http://status.irlp.net died
at 1AM Mountain Time last night at the co-location center, and a
volunteer went down there today around 12PM Mountain time to see what
the status of the machine was.
It won't boot. It's been removed from the site for repair.
*** Chris N6ICW and Dave Cameron VE7LTD reconfigured the feed to point
to IRLP Reflector 9000, channel 9 (9009) for the remainder of the
mission. ***
Announcements regarding the status of major equipment/server problems or
outages in the IRLP network are normally sent first to the IRLP
YahooGroups list (irlp at yahoogroups.com), where I've been sending updates
today about the problems experienced above.
