George, excellent suggestion and brilliant detective work. Thanks.
I believe, in the case of this one message, I have discovered the problem to
be a message rule in Outlook Express which moved it to an incorrect folder.
I just don't yet understand why it did not do the same to the original
message as well as the follow-up and also why it did not affect the SAREX
messages. I'm sure I'll figure it out though. However, this does not appear
to explain what has happened to some earlier messages which predate the
change I made to the rule which caused the problem. Actually it was more to
do with adding a rule for SAREX messages and slightly altering the AMSAT-BB
rule so that they did not conflict. As a result of all of this, another rule
ended up taking precedence over these two. Better detective work on my own
part (searching my local folders by subject) would have revealed this
sooner. So sorry for being less than my usual thorough self.
Armed with George's suggestion I will be able to compare my Sent Items
folder with my AMSAT-BB folder and the AMSAT-BB archive to see if there is a
discrepancy. I suspect it will all make sense in the very near future.
Thanks to all for your interest, comments and assistance.

Have you checked the archives to see whether your messages are, in fact,
getting thru, but you're just not seeing them? Here is the "author index"
listing for you from the current AMSAT-BB archive, as of today:
