Recently, Microsoft released a security bulletin describing a vulnerability
that can be exploited by a specially crafted PDF file attached to a regular
email. Since Windows Malware Protection Engine software scans incoming files
automatically, the attack could succeed even if the targeted victim does not
interact with the malicious PDF file.
This particular vulnerability may also be exploited by hosting his malicious
PDF file on a Web site.
You should download and apply all Microsoft security patches immediately and
make sure your anti virus software is up to date.

Subject: [amsat-bb] PDF attachments
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the OT, but is anyone else receiving a large amount of PDF
attachments via their Amsat email alias?
Countless variations of the 'Greeting Card' PDF have been cluttering my
inbox lately, mostly via my Amsat
alias address. I do use a SPAM filter, and it is probably catching 70%, so
you can imagine how much junk is coming in!
Is this just affecting me, or do we need to ratchet up the SPAM filtering on
the Amsat server?
Thanks and 73,
