The way I log with my arrow is to first listen to some of the pass and write down the calls I hear. Then I jump in. If I get someone either by calling them or them calling me, I put a check mark next to their call. If I get a call I had not written down, I quickly jot it down. You do not need any further information from them.

Grid squares can be retrieved from QRZ or your favorite database. The times are irrelevant. You can simply enter the start of the pass for all your contacts. As they will be within 15 minutes of the exact time who cares if you are exact to the minute. Also, the arrl logbook of the world gives you a 1 hour window (if I remember correctly) for the match.

it is not to hard. I use an icom w32a, arrow, palm pilot to track pass and speaker mic. My fingers are long enough to hold the arrow next to my palm, the radio on top and the palm pilot on top of that. It leaves my other hand free for the speaker mic. I drop it when I have to write something and grab it up when ready to talk again. Velcro straps can be used to wrap everything up if you need to.
