Well I got on AO-51 this morning and worked WO3T for my first ever
1200 mhz contact. The local retired GE wizard built up a 1268.7
transmitter using a master II and a signal generator for the reference
signal. The antenna is a loop yagi with about 10 loops. The feed is a
piece of LDF4. I mounted it on my field day antenna setup which I have
out in the yard for testing and pointed with the 5400 rotor. Uni-trac
ran the downlink radio on 435 and displayed the 1268.7 doppler so I
knew were to tune the signal generator. Since the pass was about 74
degrees at overhead the signals were very strong.

All this said...I guess 1200 might be fun after all. Sure got me and
the Wizard fired up. Hope everyone else has fun with it too.

73's <<John
