I wrote Bob privately last night and made a similar
suggestion. Contact martha at amsat.net and ask her for her
suggestions. I imagine she has a standard info pack for folks doing
Amsat tables at hamfests. As Wayne states she will provide you with
a "care package" of hamfest handouts, booklets and software to sell
for Amsat.
I did the Amsat table at the Anchorage Hamfest for five years (now
assumed by KL7DR) and began it by myself with help from Martha. I
nominated Dan, KL7DR, as Field Op since he was doing major Leo
elmering up here and I felt he should be recognized for his
efforts. He took over the table when I was not available a couple
years ago and continued since then.
Your invite to Bob is a great idea and perhaps he can volunteer a
couple hours with you to get his feet wet with you overlooking. I
was fortunate to have a few hams help me on my table when they saw I
needed some help. KK7YY(sk) flew to Alaska a couple years running
and did the Leo demos for me as well as helping at the table.
Bob you should appeal on the PNWVHFS reflector for help. The Pac. NW
VHF Soc has about 300+ members now.
