I just checked my manual for the 5500 and there is no exploded view diagram, 
I did ask Yaesu UK for such when I repaired my 5500 but they said there was 
nothing they could give me.....
The 5400/5600 is very similar in construction and I do have a exploded view 
diagram for that but I would need to get someone to scan it for me.  If 
anybody else can point you in the direction of a source online for this 
diagram that would help you otherwise contact me off list and I will try to 
help.
