I would also like to see what kind of financial impact this will have  
on amsat (hopefully we have an income for developing something for  
Intelsat). also it sounds like it will be a digital transponder. what  
would the estimated cost be for the average ham and is the interface  
going to be able to work with ht's that we are presently using.

I can remember phil karn suggesting a digital transponder with a  
ground station interface to the board about 5 years ago when I was on  
the board.
