You update the Keps via a "stripped" (or what AMSAT
calls a 'bare') Two Line Element (TLE) file. By
"stripped" I mean it has ONLY the TLE data, without
any other characters. Go to the AMSAT website, and
then to the "Tools" page. Go to the "Keplerian
Elements" section, and select the "Bare NASA (2-line)
format elements". On that page, in your browser, use
"Select All", and then "Copy". Open Windows Notepad,
and "Paste" the files you just copied into the Notepad
window. Save this file as "keps.tle" in the "keps"
folder of WinOrbit. The next time you start WinOrbit,
you'll see it updating the keps, *IF* you have "Enable
Automatic Updating" enabled. To enable it, open the
"Setup" tab at the top of the title bar, and select
"Misc. Settings". Make sure the box for "Enable
Automatic Updating" is checked.
I've been using WinOrbit since it I first had a
Windows PC, and it's a great little program.
