Hi Michael,

Unfortunately we have a report that the transmitters are off.

During the 7:30 EDT pass tonight I will try to turn the transmitters back on. If I can't we will have to reload the software which will take a day two.

With the no eclipse period for the next 8 months we should be running Mode S more often. So, you shouldn't have to wait too long to test your converter.

So if I understand this correctly, the S-band downlink is a mirror of the UHF downlink? I've been wanting to test an S-band converter to see if I can hear the bird. Tonight will be a good nite then to test it. Got it working just before the final S-band pass last month, but it wasnt a good pass for me, and I didnt hear it.

  Hello John,

AO-51 was changed into mode V/SU Monday night to assist our friends at GENSO
in testing a new station setup.

You can check the current mode of AO-51 at
  http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/echo/CTNews.php

We are just entering a no eclipse period and since I can't get telemetry
while in this mode, I needed to reduce the power of TXB so that the total
power was equal to the power being used by TXA and TXB just before the mode
  change.

TXB is running about 380 mW, Sunday it was 600 mW. I will be switching back
to V/U analog and L/U digital mode to night on a US east coast pass.
