Hi Bob,
Believe me !!!, it was not my intention to come across as a "wet blanket" ... I bet you chaps have a better phrase ... ******* limey! ... he he he ...
Obviously, you're well aware of the AO-7 situation but there are several stations that arn't and my intention was to make people aware of it.
If I have offended in any way, I sincerely apologise Bob.
This mail is CC'd to the Amsatr-bb - mine get there, since I'm rersponsible for it.

John/etc
To requalify- This is my capability! I use only the exciter IC-451 1-8W. I am acutely aware of the sensitivity of AO-7. However when attempting work footprint edge to footprint edge, I did run some power momentarily to find my down link. Yes John I have read all the available information regarding the history and operation of AO-7. John, I trust you will take the liberty to CC this email to the EU AMSAT reflector, their mail bounces back. I should have reread my initial post to the bb, as the context is not correct. My apologies to all for the justifyable outrage this has caused. I conscientiously make every effort to follow all the rules written and unwritten. I will look into the wet shoestring concept.
