Hi John and all,

This seems to be what happens with all these up and coming cubesats and the
like.. they launch a web-site and then never update it to current
information. I am a new member to AMSAT and although the Journal is very
good, we seem to lack current information on current and future satellites
to the fleet.

I am not only taking about AMSAT NA, who's sat status pages up-dates about
once or twice a year and show different status on the main page, and then
when you click on the actually satellite to see transponder details the
status shows as being down..

Its very hard to keep things up-to-date, but we should be a bit more pushy
for info otherwise, will there not be an amateur sat service in 5yrs time?

Sorry to rant, and please dont flame me, but I joined AMSAT to get more
information and get involved! This doesnt make me want to donate to
something I cannot see or know about..

Thats my pennies worth....

Chris

Subject: [amsat-bb] A query.

Hi all,
Does anyone have any current information on the whereabouts/state
of the SUMBANDILA (lit: 'pathfinder') satellite that was built by
Stellenbosch universdity. South Africa.

The last I heard - (a year ago) - it had gone for "testing".

This satellite with a 2m/70cm transponder was to be launched at the end of
2006 ... then May 2007 ... it is now January 2008 and I can't recall seeing
any pertinent info: on any of the bulletin boards.

If anyone has any 'recent' information I'd appreciate a hands-up.
