On a D7, you need to set menu APRS 2-B labeled "Packet Path" to "ARISS"
That should be all you need if everything else is already working on the
ground.

Hi JoAnne (or anyone...),
This is a really basic question, but I haven't been able to get over the
mental block yet. What exactly does this translate to on a Kenwood
D-7ag? There's an "unprotocol" field (menu APRS-2-E), which seems to
not be the right place. Mine says "APK002".
It would seem that it should go in Packet Path (menu APRS 2-B), which is
currently "wide1-1,wide2-2". I expect the "unprotocol" part would be
left out, so change the whole wide... string to "CQ VIA ARISS"?
Am I close?
Thanks,
Greg KO6TH
