Bob,
I am not aware of a dual band circular antenna made by anyone. I do
own a dual band antenna Gulf Alpha used to make, but it works as a linear
antenna on each band like the 'Arrow' antenna.
The Gulf Alpha antenna is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It is
the most ruggedly constructed UHF/VHF antenna I have ever seen. Truly an
antenna built to withstand whatever is thrown at it! When in doubt they
machine their parts from solid chunks of aluminum!
Performance seems to follow exactly what one would expect. I
believe they get as much gain as can be expected from the boom length used,
just as any other modern Yagi. Modern antenna modeling has put everyone in
the same ball park for the same boom length.
When I was shopping for station antennas I wish they would have made
the longer Yagis they make now as I would have bought them.

Subject: [amsat-bb] Gulf Alpha questions
I am interested in a dual band, circular polarized antenna system, I like
the Gulf Alpha system, from the reviews i have read. But their web site is a
bit
thin on info. I go to the dual band section, it talks about FM
antennas...not sure why they would be FM... they arent tuned for SSB part of
band or
what?
What is the model number of their satellite packages?
Anyone use them? I saw an Eham review of one system, great review, but no
antenna model number.
Please direct me...
