Jeff,
      Assuming you mean "MCP D7G",This works fine for me on 2 laptops 
with XP pro, SP2 and a desktop with XP home /SP2. I used the serial 
cable supplied with the radio and an ordinary serial rs232 plug wired up 
to the cable.

  One laptop is usb only and the software worked fine with a generic usb 
to serial adapter.
