You never know.

I had a 1978 International Scout Traveler (think 
diesel powered 2-door explorer).  It used a 
6-cylinder Nisan diesel engine with standard 
mechanical rack injector.  I had such a low RF 
noise level that I heard all the noisy vehicles 
passing by on the road.  My current truck is a 
2002 Toyota Tundra, very low audible noise in the 
cabin and no discernable radio noise (the heater 
fan motor is the notible source).

I agree that the manufacturer is a good source 
for noise fixes (more likely a couple years after introduction of a new model).
