As a reference point, I was able to see half an
S-unit (approx.) of sun noise with my 85cm offset
feed dish with helix feed and MKU-232A2
LNA. Pointing at trees (forest) on the horizon
also produced about the same noise increase as
compared to cold-sky. When I get my AO-40 stuff
back up I will make a more precise measurement
using my SDR-IQ as detector (0.1 dB resolution
in gain). Also the SDR-IQ can switch off AGC.
