Hi all,

Listening to some of the recordings over North America/Europe is quite
instructive and seems to conform to a consistent pattern.
Station A transmits and holds in the transponder without problems. Station
B begins transmitting but drops out two to three seconds later when the
transponder tail ends. On rare occasions two strong stations seem to avoid
the problem and I suspect this may be because their carriers overlap and
SO-67 sees a continuous carrier and does not trigger the transponder tail.
This may be a technique to avoid the dropouts. Station A holds the carrier
on for a second after a call and station B may be able to overlap with A's
carrier and avoid the dropout. Perhaps worth a try.
