[amsat-bb] Re: HO-68 Schedule Jan 17-24

I've often thought that it would make sense for us as a community to
work toward the following:
1. Predictable mode changes based on simple parameters that extend
forward in time. These would include 'every other week' (as below), or
'all even days', or 'when above 40 deg. N'.
2. Scripting 'hooks' for our tracking programs, whereby the mode of a
satellite could be programmed by a scripting language such as Lua,
Ruby, etc.

Then, as as community we could write the scripts that automate the
selection of modes based on #1 published by the satellite groups, and
we'd have a slightly more automatic process: SatPC32 would, for
instance, not automatically go to AO-27 when in auto mode unless it
were in an operational mode. I recognize that this isn't going to work
well with commissioning or with the testing mode that FO-29 is in
right now, but it's worth a thought.
