Enzo,

I'm fairly certain (but not 100% sure) the transmit modification you
made works for ANY band selected at the MAIN (transmit) band :)
Just put 1.2GHz in the MAIN band, and 70 cm in the SUB band, and you
should be ready to go (I think).

The transmitter modification is at or near the varactor, so it should
provide transmit audio to any selected band.  So, I think your radio
is ready to go with AO-51!

Be sure to try to optimize the uplink frequency.  Many of us find that
1268.703 works well.  At these frequencies, you might find that
something higher or lower works best.

When I modified my TS-790A for 9600 baud packet I tapped the both the
MAIN and SUB band receiver ICs and put a small switch on the back of
the radio.  That allows me to work simplex or duplex, regardless of
band.
