Scott,
If you go to the AMSAT website and follow down the listings on the left side
of the site, you will find a Question Mark (?) and if you click on that you
will find many reams of getting started information.  There is a bunch of
articles for the more advanced as well.  In the same listings, there are
even downloadable videos for people to watch - a great way to attract people
during a demo.  When I was in Baltimore, with Richard Crow, he demo'd
actual passes in the parking lot and I was showing a few videos on satellite
stories inside.
I tailor my talks to the crowd at hand and request from the group what the
majority of them would like to see or talk about.  Usually, there is never
enough time to give a longer timely talk.  
All the information is downloadable and you can reproduce it giving AMSAT
the credit.  Don't forget to put a blurb in the flyer to attract membership.
Our current trifold brochure is available also as a handout.

Has AMSAT, or any frequent satellite demonstrator, developed an information
brochure or card that explains the basics of amateur radio with a focus on
space programs? I sometimes attract attention while operating in public and
would like to provide a take-away for people -- licensed or not -- who show
some interest.
