I work V/S with two HTs, and a ~10 inch corner reflector and 
downconverter for S band. One HT has a $10 MFJ whip, and the other is a 
IC-2 purchased for $5. I bought my last 2 downconverters on Ebay or 
hamfests for less than $20 each.
