William,

I'm afraid there is no "golden standard." CAPE-1 used the PC104 connectors
also, but they were placed for convenience not by any standard. I believe
CAPE-2 is moving away from these in favor of a backplane design and I'm not
sure what other CubeSat programs are doing.
