We missed seeing the contrail from the launch, though we were going
to try to see it here about 170 miles north of Kodiak. Nice set of
photos of the launch vehicle and the satellites on this website.

I was busy finishing up a day outside repairing the base structure of
my 16-foot dish that suffered wind damage early in the week. I got
the dish temp. propped with 4x4 timbers and removed the angle-iron
from both sides of the mount. I was in the midst of feeding my six
sled dogs at launch time. Pretty tiring working in 15F wx
outside. Tomorrow, I will install 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 square tubing to
replace the bent 3-inch angle-iron. Wind gusts to 50mph resulted in
2500 lbs of wind force on the dish.

There were pictures of the contrail on TV news tonight taken from
Homer, AK about 70-miles closer to Kodiak. Skies were perfectly clear.
