I agree on TV rotors. Its an excellent inexpensive way to get elevation. The U100/110 is what I use as well and its well suited because you can put the boom right through the rotor.

You can even build a controller for computer control but I’m currently rotating elevation and azimuth manually.

Hi Marco,

If you are looking to lash something together (instead of going with a purpose-built Elevation rotor), I and others have had success with Television-type rotors that have a through-hole for the mast.  Mounted on their side, they seem to perform very well.  Just keep things balanced, and protected from the weather and they should be happy.
