Hello Everyone,
Did you know that the Morse Code Decoder window in ARISSatTLM will also
decode Morse on the HF bands?
I was tuning around the low end of 20M and decided to give it a try. I'm
already setup for PSK31 and JT65 on my FT857D so the audio path between the
rig and computer soundcard is setup over here.
Here is what I did ...
1. Start ARISSatTLM
2. Click the start button in the lower left of the Tuning
Indicator window.
3. Tune your HF receiver to put the CW signal in the display
where it says "Put CW Signal Here"
4. Nice steady CW like the ARRL bulletins decodes nicely.
I let it run for a minute and the buffer scrolled nicely
through the display. Reading the CW bulletin was like reading
the mail :-) Short bursty 50 WPM QRZ 5NN contest type operation
missed a few characters. Perhaps it was just a weaker signal
since I was looking for ST0R.
You can get the ARISSatTLM software from http://www.arissattlm.org/. There
is a link on the http://www.amsat.org front page to get a copy of the
software Quick Start Guide.
Have fun!
