Hi Bob,
Not only is the Compass beacon alive and well with housekeeping information
every three minutes but if you care to send it a few DTMF tones when it is
sunlit it will respond with beacons, housekeeping data at 4800 etc. DK3WN
has decoders on his website.
A typical beacon decode:
Solar Cell Voltage 4.84 V
Solar Panel 6 Cur (+Z) 112.94 mA
Solar Panel 2 Cur (+Y) 0.00 mA
Solar Panel 3 Cur (-X) 0.00 mA
Solar Panel 4 Cur (-Y) 0.00 mA
Solar Panel 5 Cur (-Z) 43.92 mA
EPS Reset Counter 1
Power Level Battery Charging
Heater Active Battery Heater OFF
Power Safe Counter 2
Emergency Mode Counter 0
Battery Voltage 4.00 V
Battery Current 0.00 mA
Battery Temperature 7 °C

Subject: [amsat-bb] COMPASS Heard?
Think I heard COMPASS-1 today?
Today while listening to the clean tones of CO-65, another very warbly CW
signal came up right on top of it. I did a quick scan of all other AMSATS
and found that Compass was over at the same time.
I notice it is listed as semi-operational. I guess this was one of those
Semi's?
Or is it on all the time and I can add it to my list of Demo satellites?
