Bob,
Congrats and keep up the great interest into sats. I came back from a
hamfest yesterday after showing our flag at an AMSAT table with several
older AMSAT members telling their stories about satellite contacts on the
HEO's. They are not presently members and I couldn't convince them to
return to our ranks. They said they sold their satellite equipment as they
are not around to make a contact when the satellites are overhead. One even
said he can't get up at 2am anymore just to talk to the 2 guys on the
satellite.
Please go to hamfests and club meetings to gloat about your contacts and try
and re-excite a new membership or two....no memberships equals no new
satellites.
Thanks,
Dee,
NB2F
