I hope to make time to be on some satellite passes from a location
in Phoenix on 14 February using the K7UGA call sign. I received
the OK from the CADXA to use K7UGA on the satellites during this
week-long celebration. I will post more about specific passes I
hope to work on this day, and the first part of the week of 13-19
February 2012, when we are closer to mid-February.

At the end of that week (Friday and Saturday, 17-18 February 2012),
I will use the K7UGA call sign for my on-air satellite demonstrations
from the Yuma (Arizona) Hamfest, which is also serving as the 2012
ARRL Southwestern Division Convention. The hamfest site is the Yuma
County Fairgrounds, along 32nd Street across the street from Yuma
International Airport and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma and south of
the I-8 freeway (grid DM22qq). I posted some information about this
on AMSAT's online calendar of events:

http://www.amsat.org/amsat-new/fieldops/eventDetail.php?eID=629

and the hamfest's web site has more details:

http://www.yumahamfest.org/

As mentioned in the ANS bulletin, QSL requests for K7UGA QSOs during
that week - including the satellite activity - will be handled by the
designated QSL manager, Bob K7BHM:

A picture of the K7UGA QSL card that stations will receive is on the
QRZ.com link above.

Thanks in advance go to the Yuma Amateur Radio Hamfest Organization
(yes, a group whose sole purpose is to run this hamfest!) for providing
AMSAT an indoor space at the hamfest for the 4th consecutive year, along
with letting me run outside for the demonstrations with my portable gear.
Demonstrations will be on FM and SSB satellites both days, weather
permitting. I plan to give a satellite-related presentation at some
point during the two-day event, but the date/time and location on the
fairgrounds site will be posted on the hamfest's web site sometime
between now and mid-February.

73!
