For logging I've found Logger32 works well, especially for keeping track 
of your portable operations. Logger allows you to log to a single 
logbook using different operators. For example, I use my callsign for 
normal QSOs, and /QRP, /6MTR, /SAT for home SAT QSOs, and /GRID for 
portable locations. It tracks awards, and grids for each operator. Info 
on any station you have ever worked is instantly available.

I must admit though, I am not familiar with what else is out there.
