Bob, get in touch with Scott Malcom, MTS, in Washington State. Google
it up. Scott is a former Icom tech. He specializes in older Icoms. He
has repaired several of my X75 series radios. That being said, I had a
decoder chip fail in a not-so-old Kenwood and I had to find another
radio for parts. It might be time to think about upgrading to a newer
radio. You might find after all is said and done that you have more
money in the radio than it is worth. In fact, that might be the case
right now after the very expensive trip to Icom. Just a guess. I have
and use all of the X75 radios here and it is kind of like keeping a
vintage car running. They have better selectivity than anything else
out there except possibly a transverter. Good luck.
