If you're using FT-817's, why not install a Panadapter interface and 
then use both the 817 and a Funcube. I wrote an article for the AMSAT 
BB, but it hasn't been published yet.

Scroll about half way down the page. Quite a few of us use the Funcube 
and FT-817 for Microwave work.
