Hi Ed, I'm kinda in that boat too..

I do know one thing, as for CAT control w/SATPC32, follow the supplemental instructions for the 847 to the letter. You need a null modem cable (straight thru won't work)

I am looking for someone who can be an "Elmer" for me on operating a Yaesu FT-847 in satellite mode.  I have been having some limited success but would love to talk to someone who is currently using an FT-847 in the manual mode.  I do not have my 847 connected to SATPC-32 yet.
