[amsat-bb] antenna question

Does anybody have any experience that they'd like to share about using an M2 Eggbeater antenna on 2 meters for satellite work? I was thinking about using one to go to and from the ISS and to receive AO-73 telemetry. Right now I just have a 5/8 wave vertical and (surprise!) that's not doing the trick. I'm running 25 watts out of a Yaesu FT290RII. I'm not ready for the whole computer controlled tracking dual yagi thing yet.
