Kevin,
Remember that you have to tune the uplink throughout the pass. Start at
435.160 MHz at your AOS and tune in 5 kHz increments as needed up to
435.180 MHz. The AFC is pretty good and will tolerate you being off to some
degree.
The other issue is uplink power and polarity. As I just mentioned in my
other reply, polarity really makes a huge difference. When using an Arrow,
I'll transmit and not hear myself and with just a slight twist of the
antenna, I'll be in full quieting.
