It may also be of interest that in the fall of 2016 the next generation of GOES weather sat, will be launched. It will have a high resolution image transmission that will be able to be received with minimal equipment . Just like the old days when the GOES says transmitted WEFAX. Only this will be much better! Check the GOES-R website for further information.
