[amsat-bb] Recording your QSOs

Greetings,

One low-tech thing I have been trying to do before a pass, say about two minutes before AOS, is talk into the recorder with details of the pass.
It helps later to have some extra info about the pass such as max elevation, Sat name, date, time, weather - esp if it's raining, foggy, snowing or windy, equipment, details of your location for portable ops, etc. I know the date/time is redundant to what the recorder uses as part of the file name, but it only takes a few seconds to record it.

I've been using Sony digital recorders and have had good luck with them. I just need to remember to turn the thing ON just before the pass. That's another reason I like to record the Sat info and then leave the recorder running with the radio then connected to the line in. Like Patrick says, storage is abundant & cheap.
