How about testing with your base radio, local repeater, another hand held,
scanner etc??  test coax and fittings for a short?

I still can't hear SO-50. I've checked out the receiving radio and it works
just fine. Has anyone ever had a problem with the UHF portion of an Arrow
antenna going bad? Loose connector?
