[amsat-bb] If you have just one choice, what is the best polarization to receive LEO Birds?

The worst orientation is to have the elements of your Yagi parallel to a
metal mast. So unless you¹re using a fiberglass mast or cross-boom, mount
the antenna so that the elements are perpendicular to the mast.
If you¹re mounting the antenna on top of a vertical mast, orient the
antenna so the elements are horizontal. If you aren¹t using an elevation
rotor, you may want to slope the boom of the antenna so that it points up
from the horizon by about 15 degrees.
If you¹re mounting the antenna on a horizontal cross-boom, so that you can
use an elevation rotor, orient the antenna so the elements are vertical.
Many of the satellites have a monopole or dipole antenna and are spinning
or tumbling, so you¹ll have fading regardless of whether you use
horizontal or vertical position/polarization.
