[amsat-bb] Upcoming ARISS contact with Saku Children’s Science Dome for the Future, Saku City, Japan

An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at Saku Children’s Science Dome for the Future, Saku City, Japan on 22 Oct. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 09:52 UTC. It is recommended that you start listening approximately 10 minutes before this time.The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be direct between NA1SS and 8N0SDF. The contact should be audible over Japan and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.

佐久市子ども未来館は2001年に開館しました。地球科学、宇宙科学や生命科学や環境についての展示があります。実物大の恐竜の模型や、170人収容のプラネタリウム室や、マーキュリー号の展示が、人気を集めています。宇宙飛行士の油井亀美也さんの出身地から近く、油井さんが訪れたこともあります。「子ども」未来館ではありますが、幅広い世代が学ぶことができる場所です。

The Saku Children’s Science Dome for the Future is a science museum that was founded in 2001. It has a variety of exhibits on earth science, space, biotechnology, the environment and more. Some of the attractions that gain the attention of the children are a life-size model of a dinosaur, a 170 seat planetarium and a “mercury” display model presented by NASA. The center is located near the birth place of Mr. Kimiya Yui. Mr. Yui himself has visited the center several times. The name of the center has the word “children’s” in it, yet all ages can learn from the Saku Children’s Science Dome for the Future.

Participants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:

２．        ） 宇宙から見える景色はどうですか。

３．        　        宙では、９０分で朝昼夜を繰り返すそうですが、体内時計が狂わない工夫は何か      りますか。

4.　     宙に行ったら、重力から解放されて身長が伸びると聞きました。油井さんも伸び            したか。その時実感はありましたか。

５.　   めてジェット戦闘機に乗って外を見た時と、今回初めて宇宙から地球を見た時と            は、どちらが感動しましたか。また、それぞれ、具体的にどのように感じました            。

６.　   重力状態では、地球で歩いている時と比べて、疲れ方に違いはありますか。

７.　）　       は将来宇宙へ行ってみたいと思っていますが、訓練は大変でしたか。私のような            通の女の子が、宇宙へ行かれるようになりますか。

８.　   こうのとり」とのト゛ッキンク゛を成し遂げられましたが、子供の頃の生活や体            で役に立った経験はありますか。

９.　   は水泳を頑張っていて、速く泳げるようになるために筋トレもとても大切だと思            てやっています。油井さんは宇宙でするどのトレーニングが好きですか。

１０.　　       は宇宙に行きたいのですが、ブラックホールが怖いです。急に飲み込まれてしま            ことはありますか。

1.  I was very impressed with your HTV capture.  I want to be an　astronaut 

    like you.  What made you the most nervous during the mission?

2.  Could you describe the view from the ISS?

3.  I heard you have sunrises every 90 minutes.  How do you keep your body on 

    a normal 24 hour cycle like we have here on earth?

4.  I heard that astronauts get taller in space.  Did you get taller?  Do you 

    actually feel taller?

5.  Which moved you more, the scenery of the ground on your first flight in a 

    jet, or the view of the earth on your first flight in space?  Could you 

    describe how you felt about each experience? 

6.  Do you feel a different type of tiredness from working in space verses 

    working on earth?

7.  I want to go into space in the future.  Were your trainings hard?  Do you 

    think that a time will come in the future when an ordinary girl like me 

    can easily go into space?  

8.  I was very impressed with your capture of the HTV.  Did any of your 

    experiences in your childhood help or contribute to the skills needed to 

    capture the HTV? 

9.  I am a swimmer, so I do strength training exercises in order to help swim 

    faster.  Which strength training exercise in the ISS is your favorite?

10.  If I went into space, I would be afraid of black holes. Does that ever 

     happen, that people are suddenly caught by one?
