It's amazing when you think about how long the 817 has been around. I remember over 10 years ago setting up my two 817's with SatPC32 at the Orlando AMSAT booth as a demo letting people tune the u/l or d/l while watching the 817's following each other. I might get yet another 817, but present plans are adding the SDRplay to my base stations, and to my FD SUV tailgate setup, a Kenwood B2000 with d700 control head, laptop, various arrow antennas, and 1/4 wave roof mounted vertical antennas. I think that's about as portable as I'm going to get anymore...

Thanks! Good luck with getting your SDRplay set up. It has worked well for me, once I figured out some of the configuration settings in it. Too bad you don't still have one of your 817s around, so you could make a small station with an 817 and the SDRplay, and have the option to control it all in SatPC32.
