Hamlib is software which has the actual commands for controlling a
radio. However, you'll also need a user interface and Gpredict works
well for that. It not only tracks the satellite, it'll control the
frequencies as well.
Both run on Linux and, I believe, they've been ported to OS X. I use
them on a laptop that has openSUSE on it and I've had little
difficulty in running my IC-910 with them, at least with the versions
I have installed.
