Years ago at the Boxboro hamfest while manning the AMSAT booth I asked Chip
Margelli when Yaesu was going to come out with a FullDuplex replacement
for the FT-847. He looked at me for a few seconds and said, when are you
guys going to get some more satellites up? As the times were lean for
launches, I had no answer for him. Well Yaesu, and Chip times have certainly
changed....

Subject: [amsat-bb] FT-991 (radio Question)
Just double checking - I assume the FT-991 can NOT do full duplex satellite
communications. Is this correct?
I'm thinking the only radios on the 'new' market that that currently do all
mode full duplex satellite communications out of the box are :
Icom IC-9100
Kenwood TS-2000
Is this correct?
My old reliable FT-847 is now passing the 16 year mark, and I am considering
an update.
Thanks and 73,
Joe kk0sd
