Hi Greg.

The transponder was on during the last pass over Europe.
As far as I know the team in The Emirates have left the satellite in a mode where the transponder is on in eclipse.

So, it should be on for tonight's passes over North and South America.

The signal every 5 seconds should show up as 2 lines lasting 700mS.
The telemetry data is transmitted for 4.3 seconds between each burst of tones. (but it sounds just like noise.)

Oh, wait...

Just ran Fabricio's recording through fldigi, and I see TWO lines
(tones) during the 1 second pulses, each looking about like what I saw. 
So, the modulation is really wide, compared to what I am used to
seeing.  Didn't catch that during my pass.  Will check again next time.
