Mark,

A single FT-817 does not lend itself to satellite operations.  Most people
use two.  However, Mark, WA8SME came up with a small device which sits in
the CAT line and improves single rig operation.  You can/could get it from
the ARRL Online Store:

It is a very simple kit, and Mark gives excellent tech support.
