Between satellite contacts, Don?t forget APRS at Field day too.   Have fun!

Independent of scoring (APRS gets no respect at FD anyway)?  it is still a
good time to play APRS radio and make contacts.  Who cares about points
when there are so many people on the air!

Remember CQSRVR lets you call CQ everywhere in the world from your APRS
radio out in the field.  Just send a message to CQSRVR with the first two
words as CQ FD followed by your info.

Everyone else in the world who has also sent such a message is
automatically logged into the CQSRVR and will get a copy.  Once you have
sent yours, then you too will get a copy of all future such messages from
everyone else.

CQSRVR just makes the global CQ to everyone else.  To make contacts, then
you need to initiate a 1-on-1 message to any other callsign you see to make
the contact!

I was asked to pass this along:

Sirs, next June 23-25, PT2AP and PT2AZ will attempt to activate the GRIDs GH55 / GH56 / GH65 and GH66 simultaneously, Calling North America, South America, Europe and Africa, in Satellite operation.

It is not yet certain, because we need the authorization of the owner of the Farm, which we will only know when we get there. But at least one of these GRIDs is certain of the activation.

We probably will not have phone coverage, and we'll be "in the dark" ...

We will try to activate the SO-50 , FO-29, AO-7, AO-85 ...

Look for PT2AP-9, on APRS tracker, on the days of activation ...

I have a fully registered version, but I am still limited to 12 satellites?

When I click on the "V" on the left and make it "V+" so that I can correct the uplink and downlink frequencies, I try to change the frequency using the up and down arrows under the 20, 100, 500, 1k and 5k labels.? But it only changes the downlink.? Why?

Once I can hear my downlink and I toggle the "V" back to "V-" then how do I save the corrected frequencies to Doppler.SQF

What if I want to use SatPC32 to tune around the passband and look for other stations?? What are the steps for that?

I want the Countdown window to attach to the right.? It does that on one computer, but attaches to the left on another.

I am using my FT817, and have the CAT working.? When listening to FO-29, I try to tune the VFO but it keeps putting me back on the frequency shown in SatPC32.

Another weird behavior...in CAT control mode, it keeps jumping between uplink and downlink frequencies.? How do I stop this?? Is that the special FT817 configuration I need to use?

Thanks for chiming in and confirming the interpretation of satellite
contacts are lumped together as a single band under the ARRL Field
Day rules. This is how I've treated them all along. Makes for some
extra work in submitting my reports to ARRL and AMSAT, but it isn't
impossible.

If other stations call me on an FM satellite after I've made my
points-earning QSO, I will work those other stations. I won't score
the extra QSOs, but I work those calling me since I could be their
first satellite QSO for the 100-point bonus. When I submit my Field
Day reports to ARRL and AMSAT, I specifically exclude these additional
QSOs from my scores. In over a decade working satellites during Field
Day, this hasn't been an issue for either competition. Same thing when
I work stations on more than one satellite for the ARRL Field Day
scoring - log the QSOs, but they don't go into the score.

Even up at 7000-7500' around Flagstaff AZ, temperatures are probably
going to be north of 90F tomorrow. I'll be somewhere up there, hoping
to find a good spot with some shade, an opening in the forest for
working satellites, and some luck to make a few satellite QSOs (plus
some propagation on HF and 6m, too). I might even go back to somewhere
on the south rim of the Grand Canyon, if all else fails...

I made the mistake of trying to set up a different radio configuration and
in doing so I've apparently trashed a file and now the program will not
even open to allow me to fix the issue. There error message is as follows:

"Error while loading file Standard.sat
The Program will be closed."

Any suggestions? I reinstall SatPC32 but I'm operating portable away from
the home QATH and do not have my registration serial number with me!

I did a similar thing some weeks ago. Yo can get a copy from the SatPC
backup directory and replace the bad one. You may have to add or edit
the new stuff you want, but the file will be file and readable by SatPC.
For example, my system Windows 10 has it here:
C:\Users\GARFLD\AppData\Roaming\SatPC32_DataBackup\SatPC32

Every time I've reinstalled it or upgraded it, the registration info
automagically applied itself to the "new" program.

? ? ? I for one agree. I don't like the single FM rule or the fact that working w1aw on FO-29 and working w1aw on AO-73 is a dupe in the ARRL rules.?? ? ??? ? ? ?I've thought put w1aw and k6kph on the FM birds with some serious punch and have them hand out contacts on the FM birds. And have them be the only contacts that count...Or drop the 100 point bonus eliminating a lot of folks without satellite experience.

They are fine, though confusing about the meaning of contacting "different satellites." Does that mean that "satellite" is a band and working a station on more than one satellite would be a dupe? I'm not sure. AMSAT rules allow you to work the same station on multiple satellites.
